As expected, it's a big enhancement for my night vision (Night Shadow gen 1) purchase. This IR illuminator will be a permanent part of the night vision device. Pros: Simple and significantly increases range (& view) of Night Shadow (Gen 1) device Cons: Not sure how to compeletely turn off besides diengaging battery.
Only complaint is it does not want to stay tight to the my night shadow unit ince mounted. This may not be all bad because it actually gives me a little adjustment room for storing the night shadow in its case since I dont remove the ATN 450 after use. Oterwise, the unit does what I expected - adding more IR light to the binocs. Pros: easy to setup, adds more IR light tahn the built -in Cons: wobbles when mounted
Love this thing. Adds tremendous viewing capability. I use it with my BestGuarder digital night vision device, resulting in a major range addition. Next time, I'll consider a higher powered unit for even greater range.
